In the 1920's Swan Motors had two ancient buses named 'Naboth' and 'The Old Swan', with regular services from Bishopston via Murton. The company was swallowed up by the United Welsh Services Swansea in 1952. Some vehicles were taken into stock and repainted. United Welsh were taken over in 1971 by South Wales Transport Co Ltd and today they operate as part of First Bus."
The advertising on one side shows Macowards which was a well-known Swansea department store, which operated on the premises that had originally been set up by John S Brown, an ironmongers, in 1893. Between 1929 and 1960 it became MacowardsThe other side has Co-op advertising.
